Central Japan Railway Co. has rolled out its new Shinkansen N700S – or Shinkansen Supreme – train model. It promises a smarter, sleeker and quieter train.

The evolution of the Shinkansen is also evident in its seating arrangements. Initially, the 0 Series, which was second class at the time, had transverse flip seats without a reclining function.
