Chopped (no-pun-intended) by the studio at the last minute, this cut robs Shaw of her big heroine moment and Prometheus of its climax, making the entire film suffer as a result.

In the upcoming Alien: Covenant, she will reprise her Prometheus role of Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, who was one of the few survivors of Scott’s 2012 sci-fi prequel.

Admittedly, Shaw’s character is presented a full 35 years after the first Alien film, so I can understand how some might be disappointed that she is not a Ripley on steroids.
