The head of NJ Transit says South Jersey needs the Glassboro-Camden train line to spur economic growth of the region's "eds and meds."

Light rail from Camden into Glassboro is needed for the "collective" good of the state, NJ Transit President Kris Kolluri told a South Jersey crowd.

New Jersey Transit’s new president says the agency is pushing forward on its plans to build the Glassboro-Camden Light Rail line, and also intends to renovate Camden’s Walter Rand Transportation Center this year.
