Mauna Loa Helicopters, which currently has 32 flight instructors across its various campuses, plans to send a group of instructors to Air Methods’ training program on a quarterly basis.

A search-and-rescue ranger from Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park flew with a helicopter pilot and found the couple around 11,000 feet “on the remote slopes of Mauna Loa,” rangers said.

Officials said the couple first called for help on Sunday. A ranger flew in by helicopter and found the man and woman uninjured in the remote slopes of Mauna Loa at 11,000 feet.
