West Coast states are bracing for hurricane-like conditions today as a 'bomb cyclone' drags an atmospheric river onto land. New maps reveal the areas that will see the most intense impacts.

The maps use NASA data to show the concentration and movement of black carbon, a type of aerosol pollution released by wildfires, over North America from July 17 to July 24.
