L.A. proclaims June 20 as Cheech Marin Day, honoring the Chicano legend’s legacy in comedy, film, and Chicano art.

His personal collection is on display at the museum. Cheech Marin Day will officially be declared inside the council chambers of Los Angeles City Hall at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

"Thank you very much, it's a great honor to receive this award, especially because I'm a native son of Los Angeles, as are my parents," Marin said.
