Legendary country music singer Sammy Kershaw was stopped at an airport late last month with a loaded handgun, according to Taste of Country.

The screening found a loaded handgun in Kershaw’s possession resulting in a $5,000 fine. “It was early, I was half-awake and clearly not thinking straight,” Kershaw said in the press release.

Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing on June 26 and found Ricky Duboc, covered in what appeared to be blood and carrying a spring-loaded knife. Duboc was detained at the scene.
