The tiny, jewel-toned birds have been seen as far north as Rothbury in Muskegon County, Auburn near Bay City, and Harbor Beach in Huron County, according to Hummingbird Central’s migration map.
“During migration, a hummingbird’s heart beats up to 1,260 times a minute, and its wings flap 15 to 80 times a second,” the website states.
