The area includes what is now Mt. Vernon Park. Last month, the City of Corpus Christi issued a six-month permit for a new Home 2 Suites by Hilton. They are described as extended stay suites.

The other locations are near Nashville International Airport and near Vanderbilt University on West End. Hilton touts the Home2 Suites hotels’ ecological differences over other hotel brands.

The McLean, Va.-based hospitality company has signed deals for four Nashville area Tru by Hilton locations, said Bill Fortier, its senior vice president of development for the Americas.

MCR, the fourth-largest hotel owner-operator in the United States, has acquired the 167-room dual-branded Tru by Hilton Smyrna Nashville and Home2 Suites by Hilton Smyrna Nashville in Tennessee.

The 203-key hotel is branded as an extended-stay Home 2 Suites hotel as well as a Tru by Hilton.

A Mt. Juliet-based hospitality group is now planning a Home2Suites by Hilton hotel for a MetroCenter site on which it previously eyed a Comfort Suites.

Houston-based PA Hospitality expects to begin construction work on a Home2 Suites by Hilton-Tru by Hilton hotel at 1540 Leeland St. downtown in summer 2022.
