A new bar is in the works for the first-floor restaurant space in Turner Hall, which has sat empty for more than a year.

LOUIS — The Sheldon Concert Hall is planning $8 million in upgrades to its entry way, lobby and art galleries. The venue wants to renovate its visitor spaces attached to its historic concert hall.

The hall is a former Baptist Church that opened in 1980. St. Johns County purchased it in 2006 for $5.2 million, announcing plans to convert it into a concert hall in 2009.

The main concert hall at Archer Music Hall can hold 1,600 people and features a floor for general admission and balcony seating for reserved ticket holders.
