Ryan Day will now coach Ohio State into the next decade. According to the university, Day has agreed in principle on a new, seven-year contract through the 2031 Buckeyes season. The agreement comes just over two weeks after Ohio State won its ninth national championship,

It has been a great couple of months for Ohio State and head coach Ryan Day since they lost to Michigan just before December began. Day and the Buckeyes reeled off four huge wins after that disappointing loss to bring a National Championship back to Columbus.

The contract extension is a direct result of the National Championship victory. Day is now just one of three current collegiate coaches with a national championship on his resume.
