Sports car driver Bob Akin died late Monday from injuries suffered while testing last week at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga. Akin, 66, became the eighth racing fatality this year.

Nicknames aside, Ocean City has long looked after Bob Godfrey. He died this week at age 85.
