Cat owners are warned of more pet food recalls, as Savage Pet of California says some of its products could contain H5N1 (bird flu). The FDA and New York Department of Health share key information.

One of the cats infected with the bird flu was an 8-month-old kitten on the Upper West Side that consumed raw chicken from Savage Cat, a company that makes raw pet food. A veterinarian said the kitten had to be euthanized.

(CNN) – The brand Savage Pet is recalling large and small chicken boxes over bird flu concerns. The boxes were distributed to retailers in California, Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania and Washington. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said people who fed cats the recalled products should watch for symptoms of bird flu.
