Gmail, Outlook, and a few others have long dominated the email scene on Android. Recently, a new contender entered the ring, and it's a name many desktop users will instantly recognize: Thunderbird.

Thunderbird's Android app, which is actually the K-9 Mail project reborn, is almost out. You can check it out a bit early in a beta that will feel pretty robust to most users.

Now, Spark is making its email client on Android even better by adding calendar integration. The feature has been around for years on the iOS version but is only now coming to Android.

I'll take a look. You also reminded me that my email provider (Fastmail) has their own app. I don't like the idea of coupling my email client to my provider (see Gmail), but it might work stand-alone.
