Duke has overtaken Auburn as the new No. 1 in the latest college basketball power rankings. The Blue Devils, who have won a nation-leading 12 consecutive games, have a net rating of 36.71 en route to a 16-2 start -- the best in KenPom.

Auburn emerged from the week unscathed and remained No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports men's basketball poll but the top 10 got shuffled by losses.

UConn and Kansas opened the 2024-25 season as the teams with the best odds of winning the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Those two programs were followed by Duke, Alabama, Houston to round out the top five. UConn currently has the 17th-shortest odds (45-1) to win the tournament,

One constant: Auburn. The Tigers were the unanimous pick ... a late comeback to beat then-No. 19 Georgia 70-68. No. 2 Duke moved up a spot after winning both of its games last week and swapped ...

Despite Iowa State ’s 64-57 loss at then-unranked West Virginia, the Cyclones moved down just one spot. While Alabama, Florida and Tennessee stayed put, Michigan State (16-2) and Houston (14-3) made significant jumps.

Gonzaga lost to Oregon State and Santa Clara, falling out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since early last year. Georgia dropped out from No. 23 following losses to Tennessee and Auburn. Baylor, No. 25 a week ago, is out after after losses to Arizona and TCU.

Johni Broome's injury makes Auburn's spot more tenuous, but the Tigers beat Mississippi State by 22 even without him. Duke is barely breaking a sweat while blowing out inferior ACC competition.

No. 2 Duke took a different route to its latest Atlantic Coast Conference win. The Blue Devils pushed through their worst offensive day of the season to hang on down the stretch and beat Wake Forest 63-56 on Saturday.

Star freshman Cooper Flagg had 24 points, seven rebounds and six assists as second-ranked Duke pushed past Wake Forest 63-56.

According to the 247Sports' composite rankings, Alabama has the the No. 4 2025 recruiting class behind Texas, Georgia and Ohio State. With three five-star players, 16 four stars and two three stars, Alabama has the third-highest average player rating behind Oregon and Texas.

Those were headline grabbing numbers as the Cards stretched their winning streak to nine, eight in Atlantic Coast Conference games. At 8-1 in the league, they sit alone in second place, behind 8-0 Duke.
