The wind tree will be mass produced for sale from March 2015 and NewWind says it has raised €1.15 million ($1.34 million) to begin pre-production.

The Wind Tree is a steel structure that stands 9.8 meters high (about 32 feet) and 7.2 meters wide (23.6 feet), according to a data sheet. Each Aeroleaf is about 3 feet high.

The Wind Tree's leaves are made of a very lightweight plastic that can generate power easily as they can spin in a breeze as faint as 4.4 mph (2 meters/second).
