Traditionally, August is the hottest month of the year in North Texas with a normal monthly high of 95.8 degrees. It's been a warm, but not exceptionally hot, summer in the Metroplex through June and July. In fact, the region finally recorded its first 100 degree-day of the year earlier this week on July 29.

It's almost the weekend and the end of triple-digit temperatures for a while in North Texas. Thursday is another scorcher with highs around 102-103 degrees. The consecutive days of hot temperatures have prompted another heat advisory for the area from noon until 8 p.m.
