Mary Beth Laughton, a former REI Board Director and seasoned retail leader, will join REI as president on February 3, 2025, before assuming full CEO responsibilities on March 31.

REI has named Mary Beth Laughton as CEO, effective March 31. There’s going to be a change in leadership of the country’s largest consumer co-op.

"Honoring and celebrating a diversity of experiences, perspectives and contributions makes this co-op stronger," REI CEO Eric Artz and president Mary Beth Laughton wrote in a joint letter.
