NEW YORK -- Police are looking for a man who they say dragged a motionless dog down a residential block in New York City and then set it on fire. According to New York Police Department, it happened Thursday just before 5 a.m. at the Queens corner of 128th Street and 116th Avenue in South Ozone Park.

A man in Newfield Borough in Gloucester County, New Jersey, was arrested after pouring gasoline on his wife and allegedly holding up a lighter and threatening to set her and the house on fire, police said.

It was not immediately clear if the dog, believed to be a pit bull, was alive or dead at the time the suspect set it on fire after dragging it down the street, cops said.
