Charlotte and surrounding areas are under a heat advisory Saturday with high temperatures expected throughout the weekend. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for noon through 8 p.m. Saturday for Mecklenburg,

NWS expects the heat value to go up to 110 degrees. The organization warns that hot temperatures, coupled with humidity, may cause heat illness. Precautionary measures provided by NWS include drinking plenty of water, staying out of the sun and staying in air-conditioned rooms.

Forecasters have issued a heat advisory for Friday in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties, with temperatures expected to feel like 105 to 111 degrees. The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
