Michigan’s gas prices jumped 7 cents from a week ago, despite a one-month hold on the president’s threatened tariffs against Canada and Mexico. Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.10 a gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA.

Gas prices increased $.07 from last week in Michigan, with people paying a state average of $3.10 per gallon for regular unleaded. A month ago, gas prices were $.03 more but still $.12 less compared to this time last year.

Gas prices are expected to climb in the coming weeks, but not because of potential tariffs between the U.S. and its allies, according to Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis.

Gas prices in Michigan rose 7 cents since last week, to $3.10 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, AAA- The Auto Club Group announced Monday. The price is3 cents more than a month ago yet 12 cents below the same time in 2024, officials said in a release.
