Samsung's One UI 7 rollout has been a mess, facing delay after delay. It's a prominent and worrying reminder of how bad things used to be.

If you buy a phone in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series, you’re not just getting new hardware, you’re also getting Samsung’s latest software in the form of One UI 7, and while some older phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 will be getting updated eventually, the wait could be a long one.

The leaker also notes that the Galaxy S24 Ultra, S24+, and S24 should receive the One UI 7 update before the S24 FE, meaning we can expect it to land before March 31, 2025. This suggests Samsung is aiming to roll out the stable update for the Galaxy S24 series before Q1 2025 ends.

Quite a lot of people believed that One UI 7 will start rolling out today to the Galaxy S24 series, given that today is the Galaxy S25 official store availability date. However, reputable tipster IceUniverse is, unfortunately, dousing us with cold water and indicating Galaxy S24 owners will have to wait for quite a while to get the stable One UI 7.

Currently, the stable version of One UI 7 is only available on the brand-new Galaxy S25 series. While it’s expected to hit more devices, like the Galaxy S24, down the line, the S24 has been busy testing One UI 7 for the past few months. Interestingly, even with the February 2025 security update, the S24 series is still stuck on One UI 6.1.1.

Given Samsung keeps a gap of at least a week or two between the last beta and stable release, even at the earliest, Galaxy S24 owners will likely get a taste of One UI 7 in the third week of February. That would be quite a bummer, as the company already took a long time to release the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24 series.
