Local hope Alex de Minaur has suffered a thumping straight-sets Australian Open quarter-final loss to world No.1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner.

Earlier in the day, Iga Swiatek cruised past Emma Navarro 6-1, 6-2 in their Women’s Singles quarter-final while Madison Keys secured a surprising 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Elina Svitolina to set up a meeting with Swiatek tomorrow.

Alex de Minaur is knocked out of the Australian Open by defending champion Jannik Sinner, who wins their quarterfinal 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 inside two hours.
