It should give The Game Awards pause that, in the nine-year history of the “Best Sports / Racing” category, it’s been won almost exclusively by racing games anyway.

Fans can vote on a total of 29 categories, casting one vote for each award. It includes of course Game of the Year but also many others like best independent game and best eSports team.

Even with 24 game-related categories, it still feels like The Game Awards could use a few more. We imagined what five new ones would look like.
