West Jordan's first LDS temple will be built near 7148 South and West of Highway 111, leaders announced. The site is near the city's western edge, by the Oquirrh Mountains.

The West Jordan Utah Temple will be constructed near 7200 South, west of US 111 – otherwise known as Baccus Highway. Church officials said the temple site would include a new meetinghouse.

Similar to West Jordan's temple design, the Lehi temple will measure 85,000 square feet, have multiple stories and include a new meetinghouse. A picture shows the location for Lehi's first temple.

The West Jordan and Lehi temples are the first Utah temples announced by the church since October 2021, when church President Russell M. Nelson revealed plans for the Heber Valley Temple.
