SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) -- The city of Santa Monica will not be hosting beach volleyball for the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic games, the city announced Tuesday.

By 2023, the NCAA reported 91 beach volleyball programs and 1,615 athletes. The 2028 Los Angeles Olympics are scheduled for July 14-30, 2028. Eight Olympics have been hosted in the United States.

Anaheim will be home to volleyball during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Located just off the 5 Freeway and the 57 Freeway, Honda Center will host the event.
