The collapse of the popular Glen Canyon arch formation calls into question the stability of some of Utah's other arches. Arches National Park, for instance, has over 2,000 natural arches and bridges.

There are five national parks in Utah – Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef and Zion, which together are known as the Mighty Five. Arches is only about 30 minutes away from Canyonlands.

In 1929 Arches had been designated as a National Monument. The desert area outside of Moab in Eastern Utah is recognized all over the world for it's sandstone formations.
