Tesla's Model X SUV is nearly a decade old, having first gone on sale later in 2015. It's received only one major update since, for 2021, and has largely lurked in the background of Tesla's lineup.

In the first quarter of the year Tesla delivered a collective 12,881 units of the Model S, Model X, and the Cybertruck, out of a total of some 362,000 units globally.

The refreshed Tesla Model S and Model X cost $5,000 more but lack major new features, with no inclusion of Cybertruck innovations like steer-by-wire or 800V architecture.
