May through July is peak tarantula season in Austin. In the early summer months, the large hairy spiders emerge from their underground burrows and crawl around Texas in search of mates.

On June 6 at 11:37 p.m., a tarantula was seen crawling over a Ring camera in Steiner Ranch, which is near northwest Austin. KXAN viewer Jamie York Pillans sent in the footage.
