Sumter County is using new topographic maps to determine areas at high risk of flooding. Property areas in this area qualify for federally-backed insurance.

On Tuesday at 10:50 a.m. a flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 3 p.m. for Sumter County.
