The first Sesame Street theme park on the West Coast is set to open next month, offering a boost to San Diego’s tourism market as it bounces back from the pandemic’s hit to the industry.

Philadelphia-area theme park Sesame Place is adding a giant gift shop outside its gates, which will serve as its flagship store, and the largest "Sesame Street"-themed store in the country.

The new Sesame Place San Diego theme park/water park hybrid combo debuts Saturday, March 26 in Chula Vista with about 20 Sesame Street-themed rides, slides, shows and parades.
