A big stretch at the plate has Quad Cities River Bandits outfielder Carson Roccaforte trending in the right direction and capturing this week's Midwest League Player of the Week honor.

Mayors Donna Deegan and John Peyton announced that the River City Readers will begin mailing a free book every month to all 4-year-olds in the city.
