Texas A&M's rough collie mascot has had her right eye removed due to glaucoma. The university's president announced Wednesday that Reveille X underwent surgery after experiencing discomfort and cloudiness in her eye.

University President Mark A. Welsh III said Miss Rev was sent into surgery to relieve discomfort caused by glaucoma in her eye. But during the surgery the veterinary team noted signs of abnormal tissue and removed her eye. Miss Rev is now resting comfortably after the successful surgery.

Texas A&M is proud to call a collie dog its mascot. The current canine is Reveille X and she had to have her right removed due to glaucoma.
