Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) on Tuesday said House Speaker Mike Johnson’s (R-La.) call to abruptly shut down the lower chamber ahead of schedule was a calculated decision to block a vote on the release of files related to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and was likely made at the direction of President Donald Trump.

The speaker has drawn criticism for shutting down the House before lawmakers could vote on releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files.
