Here the Radeon RX 7800 XT proved to be faster than the RTX 4070, but it wasn't significantly faster than the RX 6800 XT. However it did have sizable leads over the RTX 3080 and RX 6750 XT too.

Coming in at $499.99 (about £380 / AU$725), the RX 7800 XT is $100 cheaper than the RTX 4070, and given their relative performance to one another, the RX 7800 XT is simply the better value by far.

The RTX 4070 is rated at 200 W, compared to 263 W for the RX 7800 XT, while the 245 W RX 7700 XT is being compared to a 160 W 4060 Ti. We'll look into real-world power usage numbers when we test them.

Leaked benchmarks show that AMD's RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT beat NVIDIA's RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti in rasterization performance. The mid-range Radeon RX 7000 cards trail in ray tracing workloads.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Super outperformes the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RTX 4070, and slots in just behind the RTX 4070 Ti. The Radeon RX 7900 XT takes the top spot here, though.

Across our entire test suite, the RX 7800 XT averaged 116.6 fps, while the RTX 4070 maxed out at 107.6, which makes the AMD card around 8.5% better at this resolution.
