A heartbroken Massachusetts mother is demanding accountability after seeing American flags be vandalized once more on a Cape Cod bridge named in honor of her Purple Heart son.

Melson’s second Purple Heart came during a 2011-2012 tour in Kunar, Afghanistan, where he suffered a traumatic brain injury from an improvised explosive device blast.
