A Pokemon fan made a pixel-art map of Japan with game regions accurately placed. Pokemon regions like Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are based on real Japanese locations.

As you can see, it's the FireRed/LeafGreen version of Kanto. The most filled-out part of the map right now is the southernmost area, where you can clearly see some distinctive landmarks from the game.
