Firefox's icon over the last decade has moved away from its original 3D look of a fox wrapped around Earth to embrace the prevailing "flat" design style.

Firefox is getting new icons; Mozilla shows off two competing designs Mozilla: A "fox with a flaming tail doesn’t offer enough design tools" for its products.

Back in December, it launched a bolder, brighter, and simplified icon for Firefox Quantum that was “less about fur and more about a being made of flame,” the company wrote in a blog post.
