There was a time when the Pacers’ on-court successes were set squarely on Paul George’s shoulders. The 34-year-old swingman won four of his nine All-Star appearances in Indiana, building his reputation as a prolific scorer with a penchant for defense.

While he was unable to play in the game due to injury, and obviously not his first time back in Indiana, it was peculiar that the Pacers didn’t at least acknowledge their former star.

George once again returned to Indiana earlier this month in a road game with the Sixers, and still did not receive a homecoming tribute from the Pacers.

Paul George’s return to Indiana with the Philadelphia 76ers on Jan. 18 marked yet another chapter in his complex relationship with the Pacers. Though the star forward had a memorable seven-year stint in Indianapolis,
