Cork, in my opinion, is a superior material. It’s not as fussy as LVP with respect to humps and bumps on the floor. Cork is quieter and doesn’t expand or contract to the extent of LVP.

If you desire a flooring product that is not only quiet to walk across but will help muffle room noise, cork must be considered. There are over 100 million air cells or pockets per cubic inch of cork.

This flooring is "floated" in that it is not glued or nailed directly to the subfloor, but laid on an underlayment -- in our example, cork, although 1/8-inch foam is also used.
