SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The trial for three security guards facing manslaughter charges in the 2014 death of a Ferndale man at Northland Mall in Southfield will continue Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Three security guards are on trial for the 2014 death of McKenzie Cochran at Northland Mall in Southfield. Charges were brought against four men after the case was reviewed years after the fact.

The fatal incident at Northland Mall on Jan. 28, 2014, began when Cochran, 25, of Ferndale, reportedly told the owner of a jewelry store inside the mall that “he wanted to kill someone.” ...
