Lidl has submitted the application under Section 17 of Part 3 of the Licensing Act 2003 to Newport City Council . The store is seeking permission to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday.

After years of grime build-up, and plenty of complaints, Newport's Civic Centre clock tower is getting a good clean. Dark stains have been building up on the tower since its completion in 1964.
