Two days after being eliminated from the NCAA men's tournament, New Mexico appears to have lost its leading scorer. Lobos guard Donovan Dent has entered the transfer portal, he told Joe Tipton of On3 Tuesday afternoon.

New Mexico basketball fans were dealt another tough blow on Tuesday when guard Donovan Dent, the 2024-25 Mountain West Player of the Year and All-American honorable mention, hit the transfer portal. On3’s Joe Tipton was first to report the news and he added that Dent will consider a return to New Mexico.

In yet another back-breaker for mid-major schools, New Mexico Star guard Donovan Dent has officially entered the transfer portal. The superstar won Mountain West Player of the Year honors for his incredible play in leading New Mexico to an at-large bid in the NCAA Tournament.
