Queensland treasurer Cameron Dick has called out Scott Morrison to “end the great Queensland rip-off” in a plea for more funding ahead of Tuesday’s federal budget.

Under the plan, grants of up to $50,000 would be made available to modify 5,500 flood-affected homes, while grants of up to $100,000 would be on offer to raise 1,000 homes.

Mr Morrison accused the Queensland government of sitting on $52m that the federal government had provided them over the last three years for various disasters that were supposed to help people.

The feasibility study effectively kicks the issue down the road, while giving the Queensland Nationals something to trumpet, and reducing the pressure from them on Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
