The machine was stolen from a shed operated by the farmers market in 2016. It was handheld, easily transportable, and used to issue electronic refunds to food stamp users.

The machine could be programed for any two choices of four 1-cent or three 3-cent stamps. The Daffin building was badly damaged by Hurricane Michael on Oct. 10, 2018 and was demolished in August 2019.

The new Machin stamps will also be printed on the same tamper-proof paper used for currency. A spokesman said the new stamps will be sent out to around 55,000 retailers from tomorrow.
