Liu's fitness has been in question--he has not competed since May due to injury, and his world record was recently broken by Cuban hurdler Dayron Robles (who won gold in the hurdles on Tuesday).

World record holder Liu Xiang took it easy and still wound up with a record as he defended his 110-meter hurdles title on the last night of track and field competition at the Asian Games.
