The FBI is investigating after at least five election offices across Washington state were sent similar threatening letters containing white powdery substances.

The Washington State Attorney General's Office issued a warning on Thursday after receiving complaints of scammers posing as the state to demand money from small businesses.

In the letter, AG Bob Ferguson asked that providers who were penalized under out-of-state abortion laws still be able to practice in Washington.
