The playground is expected to be installed just west of the pavilion at Lake Charleston. The city once had a playground system at the lake but it was torn down.

The Charleston Area Charitable Foundation, which has funded many of the projects along the lake, will be covering the rest of the cost for the playground with a $200,000 grant.
