Two months after the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles history, Cal Fire has released updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps for the county. The surveys use various criteria to identify wildfire hazard areas and rank them on a three-tiered scale.

LOS ANGELES - Cal Fire just released their updated Fire Hazard Severity Zone Maps for Los Angeles County . The state goes through this process every ten years or so, and it's meant not only to decide where resources are needed, but also to update clearance or home building requirements.

CalFire's Fire Hazard Severity Zone maps, published Monday for Southern California, show fire hazard creeping farther into some the San Fernando Valley, Santa Monica and even West Hollywood.
