After the case of an Orange County judge charged with murder for fatally shooting his wife ended in a mistrial Monday, Jeffrey Ferguson, the man in the center of the legal battle spoke exclusively with NBC Los Angeles on Thursday.

Prosecutors allege that an inebriated Ferguson — angered at his wife, Sheryl, mocking him — pulled out a Glock .40-caliber pistol he always carried in an ankle holster and intentionally shot her while the couple and their adult son were watching the television show “Breaking Bad” at their Anaheim Hills home.

A mistrial was declared in the murder trial of Orange County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Ferguson after jurors were unable to reach a unanimous verdict on March 10.
